This year's 72nd Republic Day celebration would be different from others because fewer guests have been invited because of the pandemic. Spectators, relative to last year, have been reduced to 5000 from 150000. Bangladesh's 122 armed soldiers will enter the parade with the first female Indian flight pilot, Lieutenant Bhavna Kant, showing mock-ups of LCA Light Combat Aircraft, LCH Light Combat Helicopter, and Sukhoi-30 fighter jet.
It will also feature Raffles and an improved version of Schikla, a suite of anti-aircraft air defence weapons based on Radar. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the rehearsal shown parade will maintain social distance and use face mask.
