Mission Shakti scheme is designed for a women's awareness campaign and a schemes will be implemented for the various UP women's protection, respect and self-reliance strategies for women and girls. During the women's empowerment and awareness campaign, a range of competitive and cultural activities will be implemented. The first phase of the Shakti mission will spread awareness of respect and dignity for women. In the second phase, eve teasers and prepetrators will be heavily punished, having started from 8 March on the occasion of the International Women's Day. The major objective of the government is to honour the girl child, provide independence and protection. They will also be empowered to deal with the challenges in the present environment.
Mission Shakti was launched on 17 October 2020 the first day of Navratri to tackle crime for six months until Basant Navratri through CM Yogi Adityanath of Devi Paatan Shakti Peeth in Balrampur. 17 districts across the state, through various government ministers and senior officials, will lead the programme at ground level. Through the mission, Shakti industrial industries will praise female role models and entrepreneurs and encourage the approval process of a guideline for female employees. The industrial focus event will take place on 8 March. 5 Tehsil officer and sub-district officer will be awarded for their optimal work for women empowerment. Women's welfare and children's growth and nutrition departments will choose women who have worked extremely well for women's development and safety. The Basic Education Department will establish a camp in 133639 schools. The MSME Department will make Vishakha guidelines for the inner family and set up the Women's Protection Committee. Medical education will train women in the martial arts for self-defence. Information department will installed hoarding and all board headquarters, district headquarters, Tehsil level, and block level, over 4292 will be hoarded and placed, also transport department will issue licence through camps in all transport departments.
In the speech of 17 October 2020 CM Yogi Adityanath stated that if the mission fails, the convicts will be dealt with more deeply and forced to face a social boycott with their photos shown in public.
